Join us for a virtual book talk, as co-authors Dr. Amy Banks and Isaac Knapper discuss “Fighting Time”, likely to become one of the most gripping and important social justice books of our time.
As a sixteen-year-old boy Isaac was arrested, tried as an adult and wrongfully convicted of the murder of Amy’s father, a professor visiting New Orleans for a conference. Isaac was sentenced to life in prison without parole in Louisiana. In Maine, the Banks family believed justice had been served by Isaac’s conviction. Isaac’s exoneration in 1992 unleashed a sea of confusion and grief for Amy and her family and Isaac was never compensated for the 13 years of his life that was stolen from him.
In “Fighting Time” Isaac and Amy narrate the story of their thirty-six-year journey from murder to meeting with clarity, humility, and vulnerability.
